Tree Planting Day at Diamond Jubilee Wood: A Tree Planting Day will take place on 25th February 2012 starting at 10.30am to 3.30pm and everybody is welcome to attend and help plant one of the 60,000 trees that will make up the woodland. Free Event. more...

Bird Watching with Dot: Join well-known bird expert Dot Blakely (seen on TV's BBC Wildweek Live), to find out more about birds in and around Whitehead Diamond Jubilee Wood. Date: Sunday 6th May 2012. 2012 Love Parks Week Events: Love Parks Week is an annual campaign to celebrate parks and other green space. In Carrickfergus we are asking as many people as possible to join our campaign for continued investment and support for these valuable assets. Each year we have a number of events that encourage local people and visitors alike to enjoy our parks and green space areas. In 2012 Love Parks Week takes place from 21st - 29th July 2012. Ulster in Bloom Success for Borough: Gardeners throughout Carrickfergus Borough are celebrating following the results announcement for the 2011 Translink Ulster in Bloom Competition. The horticultural talents of our Borough were recognised at a ceremony in Ballymena today with awards for Carrickfergus Town and Whitehead Railway Station. more

New Woodland for Whitehead: Diamonds are forever, Whitehead is set to sparkle with a precious new addition. Land on the doorstep of the town near Bentra Golf Course will be the Northern Ireland venue for a new 'Diamond Jubilee Wood' to mark the Queen's 60 years on the throne. Our new gem - just over 60 acres of grassland has been made available by Carrickfergus Borough Council. more
